I catch feelings
like the first snowfall
I've waited hours for,
standing on the porch.
I cling to a new love,
forgetting it fades faster
than the snowflake
melting in my hand.
I count the days,
til summer comes,
only to wait
for winter again.

This is beautiful. Poignant and wistful and yet somehow also a layer of hopefulness in the understanding of impermanence. 💖
The image of holding the snowflake while knowing it will melt stayed with me. There is something very human in still waiting for winter again, even after learning how quickly the thing you wanted can disappear.
